Our purpose
The Tallahassee Alphas exist to unify and amplify the work of three Alpha Phi Alpha chapters serving the Capital City for our mutual benefit and support. Through fundraising and shared resources, we sustain collective programming and create new opportunities to strengthen our Bonds of Brotherhood, promote positive brotherhood, and respect among one another. We serve as mentors to each other and the community at large, advancing manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind, right here in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. Therefore, we remain, First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All!
We also create dynamic community service opportunities that bring strong manpower together to uplift our fellowman and our communities. Whether through hands on service projects, neighborhood partnerships, or rapid response outreach, we put boots on the ground to meet real needs and make a lasting difference where we live, work, and worship.

A uniquely Tallahassee story.
Tallahassee is a unique place for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. because the three chapters here share so much rich history together. Our beloved Jewel Charles Henry Chapman who brought the "Light of Alpha" to Tallahassee and helped establish the Beta Nu chapter and Brother Reverend Moses General Miles was a member of the Beta Nu Chapter and went on to help establish the Gamma Mu Lambda Chapter as was instrumental in the establishment of the Iota Delta Chapter. The Beta Nu Chapter shares Jewel Chapman as the Builder of their Chapter, and Brother Reverend Moses General Miles as the Father of Beta Nu. Likewise the Gamma Mu Lambda also counts him among its key Charter Member and its Founding and First Chapter President.
That shared lineage as a Founder and a founding president which binds our Triad across generations. It is why we move as one: honoring the past, serving the present, and building the future of Alpha in the Capital City. Through this Triad, the Tallahassee Alphas honor our rich history and wish to continue to fulfill their legacies through Alpha Men in Action, progress and impact.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University and the first intercollegiate Greek letter fraternity established for African American men. The Tallahassee Alphas carry that century plus of legacy into everything we do, from a Back to School Envoy to a Big Bend Summit to the quiet, weekly work of mentorship.
